Thanks to Racecam for this audio Racing Report from Will Langhorne immediately following his 7th place finish in Race 1.
At the Bahrain racetrack, it's a beautiful clear day but as the afternoon race draws near air temperatures hover at 110F/38C and track temperatures are hitting 122F/50C.
William stays to the back of the pack for the first 3+ laps, playing it safe due to the heat. Then, taking advantage of other not-so-cautious drivers' setbacks, he pulls ahead to finish his first race in 7th place.
Somehow we feel he had that planned... #7 finishes 7th in the season opener!

It "wasn't quite as he expected" - and Will Langhorne will have to "race hard to make up spots" after finishing 13th in the qualifying round this morning.

The 2009 racing season begins in the high desert temperatures of Bahrain, a host to the PMSC since 2005.
After attending a drivers' briefing, teams prepared for a Friday practice, Saturday morning qualifying, and then the big season-opening race.
The #7 car finished 13th at practice, just over two seconds gap from the leader.
We're sure Will is just taking easy on the throttle so he doesn't damage the car before the season begins... the soaring temperatures wreak havoc on the cars' engines & tires.
